HOSKINS, Agnes; of Goodrich formerly of Waterford; went to her heavenly home November 23, 2013; age 73; wife of Verlin for 47 years; mother of Kim (Tim) Tangney and Bruce Hoskins; “Mamaw” of Meghan, Austin, Drake, Emme and Logan; sister of Rosey (EG), Liley, Theney, Diana (Clark), Ernest (Julia) and Billy Joe (Susie); sister in law of Sharon Hoskins and Darlene (Donny) Skelton; mother in law of Judy Novess Hoskins. Agnes enjoyed visiting friends and family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of River of Life Christian Church. Funeral Service Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at the Lewis E. Richard Steenson

Age: 73
Richard J. Steenson, of Oxford, formerly of Almont, passed on to be with his parents on Saturday, November 23, 2013. He was 73.

He was a 1958 graduate of Almont High School, and spent 4 years in the Navy on ship duty in the Mediterranean. Dick built and remodeled homes, sold cars, but spent the majority of his time teaching his sons and working in the tool and die trade.

He is survived by his wife Beth (Fiebelkorn), sons Curt (Debbie) of Leonard, Michael of Lake Orion, Richard K. (Laurie) of Ortonville and Jeff (Cinda) of Washington, MI; grandchildren; Amanda, R.J., Luke, Claudia, Alexandra and Logan, one sister Lori Roberts of Ferndale.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, November 29, 2013 2-8pm at the Almont Lions Club 222 Water St.-Almont, MI 48003. Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.

Margaret Oswald

Age: 98
Margaret M. Oswald, of Oxford, died peacefully in her home on Thursday, November 21. She was 98.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward of 46 years, her oldest son Robert and daughter-in-law Carole. She is survived by her children Susan (the late Bill) Bellairs of Oxford and Paul (Kathie) Oswald of Shohola, PA.

She was best most known as Gram or Grammy to her grandchildren Pam Bellairs of Oxford, Aimee (Eric) Hurtado of Oxford, Lori (Ryan) Janowiec, Dr. Karrie (Josh) Kiskaddon, Jamie (Michael) Lenig, and her great grandchildren Zach and Meg Bellairs, Alyssa, Tobey, and Dustin Hurtado, and Brady, Logan, and Parker Kiskaddon.

Margaret fondly known as Kiddie led a wonderful and full life. She graduated in the first graduating class of Hofstra University NY in 1939 and was a professional Girl Scout and teacher.

Margaret loved her years as a camp counselor, and teacher. In her spare time, she was a seamstress and quilter who loved baking for family and friends. The family always knew who to call when they needed a planner as she loved celebrations and holidays and all the cooking involved with them.

She was always busy and on the move doing things her way with a little quote or saying to keep you laughing. After the death of her husband she became a Secular Franciscan spreading simple kindness where she could and moved to Oxford from New York for her last 16 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s parish in Lake Orion and was very close to God living her faith every day.

A funeral mass was held on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lake Orion. A memorial is planned for a later date. The family is requesting in place of flowers that any donations be made to the Dominican Sisters of Peace, 775 W. Drahner Rd, Oxford, MI where Margaret loved to attend mass every Sunday.

HYNES, MARILYN J. of Clarkston, died November 19, 2013 at 66 years of age. Beloved wife of Russell F. Hynes III for 36 years, loving mother of Karrie (Rob) Reader and Russell (Diann) Hynes IV; dearest grandmother of Mallory, Nathan, Noelle and Olivia. Also survived by her siblings Roger, Carol, Larry and Bill and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn retired from General Motors Pontiac Plant. Gerald Edwin Marsh, Sr,

Age: 88
of Ortonville died Nov.19, 2013.

Born April 18, 1925 in Goodrich to the late Clayton and May Belle (nee: Kronberg) Marsh. He married the former Alice Burton in Oxford on Aug. 13, 1948. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Marsh; eight children, Sheryl (Wayne) Bombardo, Nancy Vore, Sally (Chris) Bombardo, Patricia (Gary) Laten, Gerald Edwin (Bobbie Jo) Marsh, Jr., Laurie Marsh, Barbara (Elwyn) Saunders and Georgina Marsh; also survived by 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Edward Marsh.

Gerry retired from GM Fisher Body as a fireman for 31 years and the Brandon Fire Department as a volunteer for 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army World War II, and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Davison VFW, DAV and the Harrison Moose Lodge.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Coats Village Funeral Home, Ortonville. Interment will follow at Ortonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brandon Fire Department. To send a condolence to the family go to

Christopher Robert Dillon was born in Garden City, Michigan on July 4, 1994. He was the son of Christopher J. Dillon and Heather (Brown) Dillon. Christopher attended school at St. Matthews Lutheran School in Westland where he was confirmed and played on the wrestling, baseball, basketball, and soccer teams. He moved to the Clarkston School District where he played football and attended Renaissance High School. As an athlete, Christopher made his parents extremely proud. He was a fierce competitor but always showed exceptional sportsmanlike conduct and was fair.

Christopher loved the outdoors. He was an avid snowboarder and he enjoyed playing baseball.

Christopher was a loving individual with a heart of gold. He enjoyed spending time with friends. Christopher was truly generous, and always helped those out around him.

Christopher Robert Dillon age 19 of Waterford passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013. His passing was preceded by his maternal grandmother: Patricia J. Greig Brown and his great grandparents.

To cherish his memory Christopher leaves his parents Heather Dillon and Christopher J. Dillon; maternal grandfather: Rick Brown; paternal grandparents: Lee Harold Sr. and Rose Mary Dillon; one sister: Alexandria Rose; one brother: Tristen Jacob; two aunts: Carrie (Joe) Powell and April Brown; two uncles: Nick Brown and Lee Harold (Kelly) Dillon Jr.; and four cousins: Dakota and Dylan Powell, and Madison and Michelle Dillon.

Gary E. Stewart

Age: 76
Gary E. Stewart, of Oxford passed away November 15, 2013. He was 76.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Darlene;  4 children, Gary (Barb) Stewart of Lake Orion, Vickie Stewart of Lake Orion, Jeff Stewart of Holly and Dawn Hadel of Lake Orion; 8 grandchildren, Heather,  Michael, Stephanie, Christina, Cheryl, Jennifer, Shantel and Jodie; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Decker, Judy (John) Morris and Jayne (Dineen) Stewart. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents Edward and Gertrude Stewart; sister Mary Sprague; grandson James.

Gary obtained a Master’s Degree in Education and was a math and science teacher for 35 years for the Rochester Schools.  He loved golf and softball.  Gary was an active member of the First Baptist Church choir and orchestra and also the North Oakland Community Band.

A funeral service will be held First Baptist Church of Lake Orion, 235 East Scripps Rd. on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM.
