She was an animal lover and active with animal rescues. Friends may

MORROW, BEATRICE “JO”, of Lake Orion, May 7, 2013 age 87. She was born March 13, 1926 to Peter and Thealana Kowal in Janesville, Wis.
Jo was the proud mother of four children Linda (Allen) Brown of TX, Thomas (Cheryl) Wagner of Orion Twp., Alan (Cheryl) Wagner of Fenton, and the late Leonard “Leo”; mother in law of Thonda Wagner of Clarkston; loving grandmother of Jody (Keith) Siebert, Donald Godfrey, Terry Jr. (Shelly) Godfrey, Danielle (Matt Harris) Wagner, Courtney (Roderick) Barrow, Breanna (Carey) Herbert, Evan (Jennifer) Wagner, Kaitlyn Wagner, Drew (Alyssa) Wagner, Lindsay (James) Booth, and Christopher Wagner; great grandmother of 13. Jo was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Toivanen.
Jo was a member of the women’s auxilliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Post 233 Lake Orion, and the V.F.W. She worked as a barmaid for many years, and was an avid bowler with the Eagles Club.

Schmittka, Thelma E.; of Lake Orion; age 84; May 14, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Edwin; loving mother of Roger (Susan) Schmittka, Alan (Vicki) Schmittka, and the late Charles and Randy Schmittka; grandmother of Dawn, Stacy, Becky, Roxanne, Jimmy, Melissa, Joey, and Jake; and great grandmother of Brody, Braylon, Logan, Haley, Lucas, Keira, and Aliah. Thelma will be also be missed by all of her adored children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who she thought of as her own, and she will always be known as one of the best quilt and craft makers around. Leonard Black “Pete” Iser , of Romney, formerly of Lake Orion passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Hampshire Center, Romney. He was 91.
Born April 8, 1922, in Higginsville, he was the son of late William A. Iser and Gusta Ann Haines Iser. Also preceding him in death was grandson, Joshua Blake Iser; three brothers and two sisters.
He was a proud Navy veteran of World War II, serving his country from 1943-45, and he was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He spoke of working in the orchards at the age of 8. He retired from General Motors Fisher Body Plan, Pontiac, Michigan, after 30 years, earning many awards for suggestions he submitted. He was an avid automobile enthusiast, loving everything about the auto industry, including NASCAR racing, new and vintage models and kept his own vehicles in immaculate condition. He enjoyed western movies, Lawrence Welk and the Gaithers. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle.
Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Geraldine E. Parks Iser; one daughter, Penny D Berger and husband Tom of Oxford Mich.; two sons, Daniel Iser and wife Sharon of Lapeer Mich.; and Keith Iser and wife Pam of Cookevill, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Tim Berger and wife Heather and Michael Berger and wife Amber of Lake Orion Mich.; and Ryan and Jason Iser; seven great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Perry Iser and wife Judy.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 11 at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Romney.
Interment was at Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney, with full military honors.

John Williamson of North Port Florida, formerly of Lake Orion, died on May 7, 2013. He was 81.
John, known as “One Thumb” to his friends, was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Barbara, who passed away in March 2012.
John was father to Jim (Debbie) Williamson and John Williamson, of Atlanta Georgia. He was grandfather to Jessica, John Paul, and James and a great grandfather to eight.

Jeffrey Duane Anderson, of Lapeer (formerly of Oxford), passed away Saturday May 4, 2013. He was 48.
Jeffrey was born March 6, 1965 in Detroit, son to Duane and Judith (Mattson) Anderson. Jeff graduated from Oxford High School, class of 1983. He married Cheryl Platz on September 9, 1989 at St. Joseph’s in Lake Orion.
Jeff was a technical military manual writer – he worked for Lambda Corporation in Auburn Hills where he was a team leader. Jeff was a coach and advisor, a father and a husband, a brother and a friend. He was much more to his family: wife, Cheryl Anderson of Lapeer; daughter, Stephanie, 17 of Lapeer; son, Hunter, 15 of Lapeer; mother, Judy Anderson of Oxford; sister, Sharon (Oly) Lux of Ortonville; uncle, Jerry Mattson of Madison Heights; nieces & nephew, Megan & Andrea Lux and Alexandra & Tyler Moses. Jeff is also survived by mother & father in-law, Sandy & Bob Platz of Oxford; brother & sister in-law, Yvonne & Nick Moses of Lake Orion. Jeff was preceded in death by his father Duane Anderson and his grandmother, Agnes Mattson.
In accordance with Jeff’s wishes, there will not be any visitation or funeral service. Jeff’s family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support.
