Louise Quinn

Age: 72
Louise Quinn, of Oxford, passed away from breast cancer on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014. She was 72.

Born in Detroit, she is survived by her husband William Quinn; children Hillary Shank, Lisa Horoszko, Pamela Kamin, Richard Wiles, Teresa Simpson, Debbie Sadam, Billy Quinn and Tony Quinn; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Louise lived in the Orion/Oxford area her whole life. She worked for the Echo Grove Salvation Army Camp in Addison Township for more than 20 years before retiring.

Her husband, William, is and always will be the love of her life. She will forever be in our hearts and never be forgotten.

She was loved by all. There will be a memorial luncheon from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18 at Oxford American Legion Post 108 at 130 E. Drahner Rd.

Joyce of Waterford, formerly of Ortonville was born June 27, 2014 in Holly, Michigan to the late Harold and Mary (nee: Pittenger) Quick. She is survived by 5 children, Brian (Cristina) Quick, Paul Nicholes, Gary (Robin) Sirdan, Lisa (Felix Almanza) Sirdan and James (Teri) Sirdan; 5 brothers and sisters, Jeanette Woodworth, Leverne (Marylou) Quick, Jerry (Wilma) Quick, Elaine (Don) Talbot and Chuck (Cheryl) Quick; also survived by 7 grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her companion, Larry Bush and 1 sister, Rosemary McArthur. McNeil, Betty J.; of Lake Orion; age 87; December 9, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Richard McNeil; loving mother of Sharon Schaar and the late Robert McNeil; dear grandmother of Jane (Michael Greene) Hyatt, Elizabeth (Jon) Schaar Bergen and the late Laura Hyatt; and great grandmother of Paige, Alex and Jack. Mrs. McNeil was the former owner of the Lake Orion Pet Center and together Dr. and Mrs. McNeil were the former owners of the Lake Orion Veterinary Hospital. Betty was a longtime member of the Lake Orion United Methodist Church and a member of the Red Hat Society. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion with Rev. Larry Wik officiating. Sylvain, Wendy Frances (Willis), age 49 of Lake Orion. Passed December 8, 2014 after a three year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Beloved wife of Brian; loving mother of Rebecca, Justin, and Emma; dear daughter of Joyce and the late Raymond Willis; daughter-in-law of Gerald and Marilyn Sylvain; sister of Nicole (Ronald) Miller; sister-in-law of Jerry, David (Terri) Sylvain, and Leslie Suciu; aunt of Dylan, Tenielle, Ryan, Sean, Hannah, and Alex; also survived by her “second mother” and her namesake Frances Smith, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Wendy was a 1983 graduate of Marian High School. She worked many years as a cosmetologist at Hairy Situations in Oxford, volunteered countless hours at Lake Orion Schools and Lake Orion United Methodist Church, which she was passionate about. She was dedicated to her family, friends and faith. Wendy was the “Wonderful Warrior” and will live on for all who knew her. Wendy’s PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) kept her strong and fighting throughout her last years alive. This is something she wants to live on in all of us.
